I have collected pick'em challenge papers from around the nation and will now organize them.
First lets start with the Spanish Conference-
The combatants are:
Mah bad self
Chloe Salts
Anna Zachary
Avery DeWolf (obvious cool-name advantage)
Andrew Reader
Gracie Lowry
Abbi Roberson
Kiel Ditto (obvious advantage due to the ability to copy anyone else's answers)
Megan Reynolds- Maybe... She still needs to like- ya know- fill out the sheet
Holly Lyn- also needs to fill out the sheet
Beth- mah sister
Some of these brave warriors strategically designed their sheets so that they have gaps in the picks.
-Chloe Salts didn't pick a national champion so that she could show her disapproval of the selection
committee... she da real MVP.
-Anna Zachary left the Music City Bowl blank. Some say it was because of her distaste for LSU and Notre Dame, but we all know the truth in our hearts... She simply hates music.
-Her hateful influence apparently spread towards other participants, because Abbi Roberson followed suit with the Music City Bowl boycott... Looks like we have a little cult on our hands.
-Avery DeWolf plans to use her name advantage to propel her to a victory in the Las Vegas Bowl... Even though she did not pick either team in the match. Sounds like a gamble to me.
-Gracie decided that she would allow her picks to take care of everything, so she didn't include a tiebreaker score.
Other Advantages taken by combatants are:
-Avery DeWolf drew a cute little ninja on the bottom of the page so that she could pass the proverbial "eye test". I might just give her an automatic victory because of how cool she is.
-Abbi Roberson decided to give her sheet an extra "flare" by using stars to indicate her picks. She then used the star system to add TWO stars to Mississippi State so that she could project her will onto the minds of those who oppose her... Including every Georgia Tech fan. She is also the only person to Pick UCLA over K-State in the Spanish Conference- or any conference for that matter (except Bradley- I will talk about him in a bit)
-Kiel Ditto used phrases like "I don't know what I am doing." to throw me off her game. She will come into every game as an underdog and end up winning them all.
-Chloe Salts is banking on the Alamo Bowl being VERY high scoring. According to ESPN average scores, the game should see on average 68.7 points. Chloe knows something we don't, because she predicted the modest score of 114. Her prediction is by far the highest prediction of the year.
Now is probably a good time to give the preseason rankings.
#1- Avery DeWolf- Because her name is just... soooo cool. Also the ninja thing... so cool.
#2- Me- Okay, I know that I came in second-to-last this last year, but this time I used my heart to pick the winners. My heart won't lie to me this year!
#3-Chloe Salts- Like I said earlier, she knows something we don't. Plus she left the national title game blank, this proves she knows how to make a statement.
#4- Megan Reynolds plans on using the extra time to make her selections informed and responsible, meaning that she has an inherent advantage. Plus she can say all of the teams' mascots in SPANISH, also an inherent advantage.
#5- Holly is in the same boat as Megan, but she can't say the names in Spanish.
#6- Andrew Reader- is coming into the challenge as a real dark horse. We have no idea what he is capable of.
#7- Gracie and Kiel are tied at seven because they were both so successful at throwing me off their game. They say "What are football?" and I am foolish enough to believe them...
#9- Anna Zachary- Her hateful anti-music propaganda has caused me to frown upon her chances at winning the candy.
#10- Abbi Roberson- She was the second person to join the music-haters cult. As Ole Ben Kenobi once said, "Who is the greater fool, the fool or the one who follows him?" Also she picked against K-State, but I kinda get what she is saying about Mississippi State... I mean... there are TWO stars.
#11- Beth- She used a solid system for picking teams... the coin-flip app. In her honor, I flipped a coin to decide what place she should be in the standings- I flipped 11.
These preseason standings of course mean nothing, because I will probably overtake Avery by the end of the season.
Okay, gotta confess, I was laughing;) "she knows something we all don't" DUH! :D And I, um, totally left that blank on purpose. Totally. ^_^
