What I don't like
Here is a top ten rundown of the worst sports in the world. These are not opinions- they are cold-hard facts, and they are officially approved by at least one expert in the field of fun games/sports.
#10 (Oh yes, I came up with ten this time) Almost every modern FPS(a type of video game) that comes out.
Ok, it is a cool concept, I mean, you get to pretend to be a soldier without even having to risk your whole entire life. The problem is that they are all the same. They all have similar weapons and similar gameplay. The exceptions to this are the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Star Wars Battlefront. There is little more to say about these games (other than that FPS stands for First-Person-Shooters. Y'know, in case you didn't know.)
#9 Beer pong
I really wouldn't know, but it looks like a very stupid idea. I think the goal of the game is to get your opponent more drunk than you are so that they can't get any good shots at the cups-that they are trying to hit with ping-pong balls- so that if they hit a cup, you have to drink the cup- which is full of beer. How do you plan on driving home after this.
#8 Soccer
It really isn't that bad. In a different life I might like it, but it is just hilariously boring. The games rarely go over like 5 combined points in the international games. The main reason that I hate soccer is that the top-notch athletes are huge idiots, not that NFL players aren't idiots, but soccer players are huge idiots that also play a monotonous game. The real main reason I hate soccer is that everybody is flopping all over the place trying to get penalties (or yellow/red cards) called on the other team.
#7 Ice fishing/noodling
Okay, you would think that I would be all over these forms of fishing, but I am not. I hate the cold- like for real I hate the cold a whole lot. So any kind of activity involving cold weather is off of my "Hey let's do this for fun" list. Noodling is the style of "fishing" that involves you getting in the water, looking for holes in the water, and trying to pull giant catfish out with your bare-stinkin hands. The idea does not appeal to me as I am in no way inclined to allow a large carnivorous catfish to bite my hand, and I don't want to shell out 28 bucks for a special noodling license.
#6 Bowling
I don't really have any beef with it, I am just really bad at it. next
#5 Hockey
Same as soccer, BORING.
#4 Baseball
Baseball is awful- yeah- just awful. The pros make me mad, they don't need to be THAT athletic to play, they just have to be talented. Almost every player in the MLB is using performance-enhancing drugs. It is a very over-hyped sport, plus the SC TOP 10 is always clogged with baseball catches, BORING.
#3 Death I mean golf
yay golf- except not because golf is even worse than baseball. I am super-surprised that it is a more popular sport than bass fishing. GET BALL IN HOLE- that is the entire game. Plus when you add the cost, it looks like a horribly expensive sport.
#2 Equestrian
Nuff said.
#1 NASCAR
"And he takes a left, And another left, AND HE MAKES HIS MOVE. HE TURNED SLIGHTLY RIGHT BEFORE MAKING ANOTHER LEFT. AMAZING! HE ONLY HAS TO KEEP THIS UP FOR QUITE LITERALLY 498 LAPS."
WHY AMERICA. some racing is good, and it is called either drag racing or Mario Kart. This is deplorable and is easily the worst and most over-hyped sport in the history of the world. There wasn't even a competition for this top spot. IT-IS-DRIVING! IN-CIRCLES! AND WAY TOO MUCH DRAMA!
So yeah- I hate lots of games, it is actually easier to make a game that is bad that a game that is really great. That is why schools pour millions into their basketball and football programs- people actually want to watch.

LISTING TIME!
Alright, so I really like sports, and I really like top ten lists. So it is time to combine them
Here Is my list for the best sports in the whole world.
5. Ultimate Frisbee
This is a game where a regulation size 175 gram frisbee is used on a field that is 70 by 40 yards and has an end-zone that is 25 yards deep. The goal of the game is to get the frisbee to the end-zone alive. A frisbee is alive as long as it does not touch the ground or get caught out of bounds. When the frisbee is caught the player is only allowed to take a few steps before throwing the frisbee. When a defender is guarding the player with the frisbee he is allowed to start a five-second count. If the player does not throw the frisbee before the count is over, the player must give the frisbee to the other team. If at any time the frisbee hits the ground or is caught by a player that is out of bounds, the other team will have possession. The game ends once a certain score is reached or time runs out. The game is usually informal but is played internationally as well.
4. Dodgeball
This is a game where (contrary to popular opinion) you try to dodge balls! There are many different rules for the different circuits that exist but the basic premise remains the same- dodge them balls! The game starts* with both teams standing on their respective ends of the court with all of the dodgeballs on the half-court line.
When the game starts, all of the players will try to reach the balls first. At this time you may not get out by ball contact because- well that would just be cheap, but once the teams are settled, the game will begin. When a player either steps out of bounds or gets hit with a ball, he is out. A player can also get out by throwing a ball that the other team catches. If a ball is thrown at an opponent that is holding a ball and the (thrown)ball is deflected off of the (held)ball, the player is not out, BUT if the (held)ball is dropped, the player IS out. When a ball is caught, the player that threw the ball is out and a player from the team that caught the ball is allowed back in. A team wins when all of the players on the other team are out.
*sometimes the teams are given an equal amount of balls to start the game
** There are tones of different rules based on who you play with. For example, some people prefer to play what I like to call "Weaksauce Dodgeball" where if a player is hit in the head, he is not out.
3. Bass fishing.
yes it is
Bass fishing is absolutely a sport that is played nationally. There are many tournaments and series that comprise the world of bass fishing; one of the most popular is the Bassmaster Classic. Bass fishing is a highly competitive and lucrative business that is run all through the year in different parts of North America. It is a sport that is much like regular fishing, but it is much more serious. Pro bass fishermen are out on the water all day using many different lures, rods, and line to try to catch as many big fish as they can- as fast as they can. It isn't really my type of fishing so I didn't make it number one (making fishing number one would not be fair).
In tournaments, you win by catching the heaviest fish (in pounds) and bringing them back to the scales alive and well.
2. Basketball.
Yeah, basketball is pretty great. I already told you all the rules, so now I will tell you why it is so great. Basketball is a very unique game that is played all around the world. The reason I like basketball is because it has a vast amount of components that you wouldn't expect from a game as simple as "Get the ball in the hoop." Every position has different aspects and techniques to it. As a shooting guard, you patrol the edges of the three point line while looking to get the ball with an open look for a shot. As a point guard, you bring the ball up the court and call the play for the rest of the team. As a forward, you try to get the ball down under the hoop with a good angle to shoot over the defender. On the defensive end you need to either guard your man (man defense) or guard whomever is in your zone (zone defense).
Honorable Mentions: "Because they just didn't make it"~myself 2014 (autographs will be six hunnit an fiddy dollas)
Trying to trow my dirty socks into my hamper from the bed. Trying to see how many cookies I can eat without getting caught (could be substituted by chips or spoonfulls of honey). And finally, trying to predict the results of games. The reason it is fun is because most of the time I fail.
1. (Surprise Surprise) FOOTBALL
The best game on earth has the most simple premise- make ball go that way. The game of football is so great because it requires a great deal of athleticism and strength while also requiring a lot of quick thinking and tough decision making ability. The game is very complicated to people who don't get it, but it is the most fun game that I can think of. There is a broad array of positions on either side of the ball. I specialize in the "Corner" on defense. This is the position that covers short passes and sweeps (when the ball carrier runs to the sideline to try to get around the defense). It also is a position that supports the linebacker and end and could fill in for either one if the play gets out of hand. On offense almost every player is supposed to block, so yeah.
Now you have a little taste of what I do-

Still K-State
Kansas State had a week off after the WVU game, and they used it well.
They had Texas in Bramlage the next Saturday. This game would be quite different from the first meeting. The Cats brought their A-game to this one, and they won easily 74-57. The Longhorn victory was very quickly followed by a huge game against the Jayhawks. Kansas came into the game #1 in the RPI, #7 in the AP poll, and with only one loss in the Big 12. They were outplayed by the Cats for the first 37 minutes of the game and needed a big rally to force overtime. In the end the cats pulled out a big victory over a huge opponent, and every player played to their full normal potential
They had a lot of momentum now, and they took that momentum into Waco when they faced Baylor. The only problem was that they did not finish the game. Baylor was outplayed all game long until the very end when a buzzer beater 3 from Brady Heslip sent the game into overtime. The first overtime turned into a second, and the second was just embarrassing for Wildcat fans. They were outscored in the second overtime 19-5.
They had an easy home game against TCU to recover for another big test OU. Oklahoma was a team that we couldn't beat convincingly at home and therefore a team that we would have a hard time beating on the road. The first half of that game was the most maddening K-State game I had ever seen. The Cats were down 41-22 at halftime and they basically had no hope by that point. The Sooners couldn't miss a shot all game and ended up hitting ten threes and scoring 86 in the game. The only bright spot in that game is that State had a 51-point second half.
So yay!
The next game was a good win against Texas Tech on the road that prepared us for a big home game against Iowa State. The Cyclones were ranked number 15 in the AP poll and they had the record to match. They have 9 wins against the top 50 in the RPI and they also beat us. So yeah. We played a good game and really outscored ourselves with 80 points.(The most scored in regulation since Dec. 1 against Central Arkansas.)
The next game was against the surging OSU Cowboys, but since I don't want to talk about it- just think about the fact that 77 is a bigger number than 61.
The season finale had finally come. The last game that Will Spradling (my basketball role-model), Shane Southwell, Omari Lawrence, and Ryan Schultz would play in the "Octagon of DOOM." It was my birthday and everything, so naturally I postponed all celebrations to watch the game. I even got an email from ESPN that said "May your favorite team not lose on your birthday." Foster ended with 29 points and Nino Williams with 15. BUT WE STILL LOST. Spradling had a horrible final game as far as scoring and Shane and Omari did little better.
So Yeah. The regular season could have gone better but the Cats have a 5-seed in the Big 12 Tournament and they are basically a lock for the National Tournament. Hope they do well.

K-State continued
So the Wildcats were coming off of a great winning streak and were starting Big 12 play. The Cats had a very big conference season opener against the then-#6 Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Cowboys had an excellent non-conference season and we had just finished beating Gonzaga. It was a great game from beginning to end, but the Wildcats came out with a victory. That game, along with the rest of the win streak, boosted K-State into the top 25 with a #25 ranking in the AP poll. The Cats then went off to TCU to take on the struggling Horned Frogs and they came home as victors. The Wildcats were on an exemplary win streak when they head over to Lawrence to take on the Jayhawks- a team that had not been doing very well. I thought that the Cats had a good shot at winning this game. My reasons were that K-State had been on a good hot-streak that looked like it was going to continue for a long time and KU had been having a hard time against good opponents during their non-conference performance. The game was not even close, and we walked out with our tails between our legs. We needed to bounce back, but the problem was that we had to host the then #25 OU Sooners. The Cats survived the game against the high-flying Sooners by stuffing their high-scoring offense- and adding some scoring of our own. The Wildcats then took on the West Virginia Mountaineers. The game was kind of an onslaught; since the Cats stunted WVU in the areas of field goal percentage(54.9 to 32.7) and three pointers made (9 to 4).
The season was progressing nicely; until we headed over to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns. The game looked a lot like the earlier game against OU, but it ended in a slightly different way. The senior guard Shane Southwell had the ball with only a little bit of time left. He drove the ball all the way across the court and made a very difficult floater look easy while tying the game at 64. The game was going into overtime unless Texas could score, and they did. A freshman guard named Jonathan Holmes shot a fade-away three pointer with three seconds left and sealed the game. Next the Cats had to play one of the most un-win-able games of the year at Iowa State. The Cyclones are one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the nation, and they are nearly unbeatable at home. I don't really want to talk about it.
The next game was against the Texas Tech Red Raiders (try to say that five times fast... nevermind, it isn't really that hard). This was a game where the Senior guard Will Spradling really came alive and scored 17 points. The Cats won this low-scoring game 66-58 by playing the same shut down defense that they had used all season. The next test was at WVU, and it was horrible. The team that we had held to 56 in the first game put up 81 on us in the second.
At this point everyone started noticing a pattern with K-State. We always won at home and never (except TCU) won on the road. The team needed to end that trend if they wanted to get into the tournament with a good seed....
